SBCSELPA Brochure

  • Provides oversight and case management for students placed in residential treatment nonpublic schools (NPS)
  • Coordinates student mental health IEP DIS related services and NPS placements for LEAs
  • Provides consulting services as needed to member LEAs/Districts such as BCBA behavioral services, Wrap around social work mental health services and educational audiological services
  • Coordinates with private schools for the support of Child Find and Individual Service Plans (ISPs)
  • Allocates funding for special education services
  • Coordinates and provide training opportunities for LEA staff, parents, and community
  • Allocates and manages low incidence equipment and services funding
  • Develops and governs Local Plan special education policy and procedures for participating LEAs
  • Engages in interagency agreements with agencies, such as Tri‐Counties Regional Center and California Children Services
  • Establishes a Community Advisory Committee (CAC) that advises the governing board and assists in parent education
  • Provides Medical Therapy Units (MTUs) for California Children Services
  • Provides advisement specific to federal and state special education law
  • Alternative dispute resolution to districts and parent/guardians
  • Professional development to LEAs/districts, parents/guardians and community in special education best practices
